What is the print quality and packaging and shipping details for each product type?
Prints
These are either stocked and sent directly from the studio in Sydney, or printed on demand using a sustainable print on demand service. Whenever a print is made on demand, it will be shipped to you from the nearest location. At this point in time, prints run on an open edition, so if they sell out, they will be restocked. All our prints are museum-quality giclée ink on 310gsm heavyweight watercolour paper. This is a warm, natural white, textured paper with a velvet matte finish. The colours on these prints are true to the originals and the details are not lost. Prints look very similar to an original art piece and will last a lifetime. Large scale prints A2 and larger are always printed to order.
Cards
Cards are printed in Australia on 300gsm uncoated 100% post consumer recycled card stock. All cards are currently shipped from my studio in Sydney, Australia.
Original paintings
Water colour on paper, up to A3: These will be sent flat with thick grey board and then sealed into a polythene envelope. This is to insure that in the unlikely event your parcel came into contact with moisture that it would offer the most protection to your painting. Then the painting will be wrapped in tissue paper and either sent in a card envelope or small box. Works on paper A3 and above will be sent securely rolled in a packaging tube.
Oil paintings
As they take longer to dry, these paintings will not be sent out until fully dried. Please allow a minimum of 4 weeks for commissions before paintings can be sent out. Oil paintings that are showcased in the shop are generally ready to ship. These paintings are either on board or stretched paintings on canvas. They will be packaged and shipped in a protective box. The pieces will be wrapped in tissue to protect the surfaces and then the box will be filled with shredded paper to protect the artwork in transit.
Loose canvas paintings
These will be rolled into a tube and sent to your home flat as shown on the website. They can then be taken to a framer and stretched professionally by them or you can add them flat to a frame and mounted. It is best to take these to a professional framer. If you would like recommendations for places online to buy frames please get in touch.
Ceramics
All ceramics are wrapped in tissue paper and sustainable "bubble wrap"or shredded paper to protect them. These boxes are often very heavy and are packed with very care to ensure they arrive at your door safely and securely.
Where can I find shipping details?
Please refer to the Shipping Page for details on shipping and starting costs of these services. We unfortunately cannot be responsible for any items lost during shipping due to incorrect address details. Please ensure you enter a correct address where it is safe to receive packages. If your address is incorrect and the parcel is sent back to us you will have to pay the extra cost to post your order back out to you. Please ensure you select tracked shipping option if you are concerned about items being lost in the post. This service is recommended for orders over $50 AUD.
Do you offer different print sizes than displayed?
Some of the prints listed can only be printed at the sizes offered. The quality of the prints are something that I will not compromise on and are what makes the prints so special and this can be lost when resizing some prints which is why this can not be offered on all prints. However if you are looking for a specific size to fit a space in your home please get in contact as we can see what we can do and some pieces can be resized to fit.
If you are looking to fill a very large area of your wall with my art I recommend putting 3-4 pieces together. These can look fabulous mixed into a gallery wall or a simple curated space with multiple large framed prints in the same size. I offer discounts to collectors looking at buying multiple large scale prints. Please get in touch to discuss!
Can I collect my order from your studio?
Yes, you can! You are welcome to collect from the studio, which is located in Newtown, Sydney. Please contact me via the contact form or email to enquire. You can do this before or after you order, but please ensure letting me know you would like to collect within 24 hours of placing your order. You can also send a note during the order process.
Do you accept returns?
Each order and commission that is placed is fulfilled with such care and attention, as well as ensuring full clarity and transparency throughout the process. Due to this, all sales are final and returns are not accepted. Please ensure you read all item descriptions, these have been created to give you all the details about your items and if you still have questions, please get in touch! Please check colours of art work on multiple screens, each screen displays colours differently and this is something out of our control. Products listed are photographed and edited to ensure they are honestly and clearly represented.
Ownership rights
I retain all rights to all artwork I create. This includes original paintings and commissioned works. I retain the right to make any reproductions from any of the work I have created. If you have purchased an original painting and would like no other prints to be available you need to purchase the rights from me. This will incur a separate fee. You as the collector, or any other person other than me, the artist, may not reproduce any artwork without prior written consent from Laura Steinmetz. For artwork or images used in any publications please ensure that I am credited with my full name. My work must not be resold without my prior consent. Please get in touch if you are interested in owning full rights to your painting. This is the only way to ensure it never becomes a print and you own the sole copy - I am happy to discuss options!
